In order to improve the AtoN capability of the East China Sea Area, the AtoN deployment conference was held in Xiamen from 17th - 19th June. Experts from the regional MSA attended the conference and participated in the discussion regarding the deployment scheme. The conference focused on two subjects: the 2008 preparatory AtoN deployment scheme of Shanghai MSA (involve AtoN adjustment in Lianyun port, Ningbo and Wenzhou) and the upgrade design for the dated buoys (take over from the regional government) in Fuzhou and Xiamen area.

Delegates from the navigational division of Shanghai MSA submitted the conference report which summarized the AtoN deployment in the last five years and introduced the scheme details regarding preparatory deployment. After exchange opinions on the subjects, experts eventually reached an inspection conclusion.

The AtoN deployment conference for North China Sea Area was held in earlier June which had approved the AtoN deployment scheme for Qingdao Lingshan Area, Yingkou port, Tianjin port and Qinhuangdao port.
