On 10th March 2008, a 6-person delegation headed by Mr. Wu Jianping, Deputy Director General of Tianjin MSA paid a technical visit to Shanghai MSA at the conclusion of the Working Meeting on AtoN & Hydrography organized by China MSA.

During the visit, a technical symposium was held, with leaders and technical staff from Hydrographic Brigade and Nautical Publication Printing Centre of Shanghai MSA participated. Mr. Yu Chengguo, Deputy Director General of Shanghai MSA, introduced their experience on executing hydrographic guarantee, informatization and implementing hydrographic development strategy. Hydrographic Brigade also gave a brief introduction with respect to their personnel, technology, management, informatization, etc.

The delegation also visited the Electronic Chart Data Centre and Nautical Publication Printing Center, learned the production procedure of the compilation of electronic charts and printing of paper charts.

Mr. Wu appreciated the careful arrangement of Shanghai MSA, and expressed that the visit was very helpful for the future development of hydrographic work of Tianjin MSA.
