The 41^st session of IALA Council was held at IALA headquarters in St. Germain, Pairs of France from June 26^th to 29^th 2007. Chinese delegation headed by Capt. Liu Gongchen, Executive Director-General of China MSA attended the meeting.

The session discussed the IALA strategy, reviewed and approved many agenda items, including the financial matters, the reports and proposals from technical communities, documents for submission to IMO, membership affairs and future meeting schedules, etc. During the period of the Council meeting, a celebration for the 50^th anniversary of IALA was held by the Ministry of France, at which Capt. Liu Gongchen delivered a speech as both the Executive Director-General of China MSA and the president of IALA Council.

    Subsequently, the Chinese delegation attended the E-Navigation Seminar hosted by Trinity House in London from 1^st to 4^th July. Mr. Ma Jianshe from China MSA gave a presentation on “Digital Aids to Navigation for e-Navigation” at the seminar, showing the accomplishments in the research of e-navigation in China.

    Trinity House also held a great celebration for the 50^th anniversary of IALA.
