Laotieshan Lighthouse established in 1893 is located on the headland of Laotieshan in Lusun at the intersection of Yellow Sea and Baohai. This lighthouse assists vessels sailing in Laotieshan channel and Bohai strait.
A Radio Beacon system was install in 1959, and then converted to be RBN system in 1997. A Racon and an AIS station were established at the same site.
The lighthouse was recognized by IALA to be one of the world historical lighthouses in October 1997. It is a cultural heritage of Liaoning province and listed in Chinese historical lighthouse stamps issued by China State Post Bureau in May 2002.
