Nanshantou Lighthouse established in December 1890 is located in Haigang district of Qinhuangdao. It was rebuilt in 1918 and put into operation in 1919. It was rebuilt during the period of 1942 - 1944. The third rebuilding work started in June 1990 and completed on June 10, 1991. The lighthouse assists vessel passing by Qinhuangdao port.
Combined with a RBN-DGPS station and an AIS base station, it is a multifunctional aid to navigation.
