Kongtongdao Lighthouse established in 1866 is located on the Kongtong Island in Zhifu bay of Yellow Sea. It was first named as Lusun Lighthouse and then Yantai Lighthouse, and renamed as Kungtundao Lighthouse in 1905. It was destroyed during the war, rebuilt in 1955 and transformed in 1974. A racon was installed in 1988. The lighthouse was removed and reconstructed at the present site in 1997. Kongtongdao Lighthouse assists vessels passing by Yantai port. An AIS base station is installed at the same site.
