Baijieshan Lighthouse, also called Bonhamdao Lighthouse, is located on Baijieshan Island in Shengsi county of Zhoushan city. It was established in 1883 and rebuilt in 1946. The tower is of cast iron taper structure, 14.3 meters high. The light base is 3.7 meters in diameter and the steel lantern is 2.7 meters in diameter. There are internal spiral steel staircases. Alternate red and white bands are painted outside the tower. Baijieshan Lighthouse mainly assists the vessels sailing in the Baijiexia channel of 18-40 meters deep, which is one of the main routes from Shanghai and Majishan port of China to South China and Southeast Asia.
