Xiaoguishan Lighthouse is located on the top of Xiaoguishan£¨meaning small turtles in English£©Island in the north of Xiaoban Island in Daishan county, Zhoushan city.
Xiaoguishan Lighthouse, with a history of more than 100 years, was established in 1883. The black round east iron tower is built on the base of 3.4 meter in depth and supports the steel lantern of 2.7 meters in diameter.
The lighthouse is both one of the important marks along the southeast coastline of China and an important aid to navigation for vessels entering Yangshan port. It faces Xiaobanmen channel in the east and interlinks Xiasanxing Lighthouse in the north and Waiyangan Island£¨Dongtingshan£©Lighthouse in the south respectively.
During the period of World War II, the lighthouse and attached facilities were destroyed. It was transformed in 1947 and 1984 respectively. The lighthouse demanned in 1998 is powered by solar energy and equipped with a Racon. Meanwhile, a helicopter platform was built near the lighthouse.
