Luojiashan Lighthouse is located on the Luojiashan Island in Putuo county of Zhoushan city, facing the sacred land of Buddhism Putuo Shan in the northwest across the sea.
Luojiashan Lighthouse was established in 1890 and rebuilt in 1931. The tower is a round stone one with the height of 7 meters and supports an octagonal lantern of 2.7 meters in diameter.
Luojiashan Lighthouse, together with Dongting Lighthouse, becomes an important navigational mark for vessels passing by Putuoshan port and sailing in the Yifulan and Lianhuayang channel.
Luojiashan Island covering an area of 0.36 square kilometers looks like a large Buddha lying on the ocean on his back observed from the side view. There are several nunneries on the island.
In 2001, an inscription of the lighthouse history was graved on the precipice.
